MURRAY, Ky. 鈥 ATA CPAs + Advisors has made a generous gift to the Murray State University Foundation to establish a new scholarship to encourage diversity within the next generation of accounting professionals. Named the 鈥淎TA Diversity in Accounting Endowed Scholarship,鈥 the scholarship will provide financial assistance for students pursuing an education in the field of accounting at Murray State for years to come.

Based in Jackson, Tennessee and with 15 office locations in Tennessee, Arkansas, Kentucky and Mississippi, ATA provides a wide range of accounting, auditing, wealth management, tax and consulting services and more for clients ranging from individuals to businesses of all sizes to governmental institutions. ATA serves as a long-term business advisor to its clients and also provides other services not traditionally associated with accounting such as data security, human resource management, wealth management and digital marketing.

ATA believes in the importance of promoting diversity within the next generation of accounting professionals and the benefit of expanding career opportunities for diverse individuals from under-served populations through higher education.

鈥淲e're excited to provide a new scholarship in accounting to support students in obtaining a Murray State education and develop future leaders who can serve their communities effectively,鈥 said John Whybrew, managing partner, ATA CPAs + Advisors.

鈥淥n behalf of Murray State University and the Arthur J. Bauernfeind College of Business, I would like to thank everyone at ATA for this generous gift that will benefit so many Murray State students over future decades,鈥 said Kyle Johnson, Murray State director of development for the Bauernfeind College of Business. 鈥淲e look forward to seeing all of the future accounting graduates whose education will be made possible by this scholarship. Murray State and the Arthur J. Bauernfeind College of Business values partnerships, like what we have with ATA, so that we can offer a quality education to our students, reduce the financial cost associated with higher education, and develop pipelines for employment for all of our talented graduates to businesses like ATA.鈥

Murray State offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Accounting. Students are able to pursue any of three tracks: finance, financial planning or information management. The program also offers a Master of Business Administration in Accounting.
