Murray State University to serve as a regional COVID-19 vaccination site

The University鈥檚 CFSB Center will serve as the regional vaccination site for the coming months beginning on February 10 and 17 from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. on both dates.

MURRAY, Ky. 鈥 Murray State University has been selected by the Commonwealth of Kentucky as a regional COVID-19 vaccination site. 

Registration will take place through the Calloway County Health Department at callowayhealth.org.

The University鈥檚 CFSB Center will serve as the regional vaccination site for the coming months beginning on February 10 and 17 from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. on both dates.  

The Calloway County Health Department will lead this effort; partners include Murray State University, Murray-Calloway County Hospital, the City of Murray, Calloway County, and Dr. Bob Hughes, Murray State University Chief Medical Officer/Murray State Health Services.

鈥淢urray State University is very pleased to assist the Commonwealth and Gov. Beshear as a regional COVID-19 vaccination site,鈥 said Murray State President Dr. Bob Jackson. 鈥淲e have excellent facilities, dedicated people and an important duty to help with delivering vaccinations to this region in partnership with the Calloway County Health Department, Murray Calloway County Hospital, Murray State Health Services, and many others in the Jackson Purchase as we work to end this pandemic."  

From the Governor鈥檚 office, 鈥渁s of February 1, 2021, the COVID-19 vaccination priority will be phase 1b persons age 70 or older. All vaccination sites are asked to prioritize this population until further notice. Other persons from phases 1a and 1b remain eligible for vaccination. As vaccine quantities and available appointment times allow, persons in phase 1c may also be scheduled to ensure each vaccination site administers 90% or more of all vaccine doses received within seven days of arrival.鈥
