Welcome to Showcase!
The Murray State University Global Languages Showcase is an annual, regional festival where language students of all levels participate in fun, creative events representing a variety of languages and cultures. Among the languages represented are Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish. Check out this video of a previous Showcase!
Showcase 2024
The Department of Global Languages and Theatre Arts invites you to join our annual Global Languages Showcase on Friday, October 25 from 9:45 AM to 12 PM. The Showcase features a series of worshop-style sessions that will engage your students in hands-on language and culture learning activities.
This year's event will include activities such as:
- Arts and crafts
- Language-related games
- Cultural enrichment activities for students of all languages
Check back in September for a schedule of this year's events!
There is a $5 per student registration fee that can be paid by check beforehand or by cash on the day of the event.
Space is limited, so your group today!

All middle and high school students enrolled in a language class during the current academic year are welcome to participate.
- The registration deadline is September 22, 2023. Register using the .
- The registration fee is $5 per student. Make checks payable to Murray State University and send them to Department of Global Languages, 4A Faculty Hall, Murray State University, Murray KY 42071.
A limited amount of travel vouchers is available to help with travel expenses. Send your request and a purchase order from your school’s central accounting office to Stephanie Peck at speck@murraystate.edu or 270.809.2501. Schools outside of Calloway Co. have priority; otherwise, first come, first served.
At the conclusion of the Showcase, you and your students are welcome to stay and have lunch at the Curris Center.
You are also invited to schedule a campus tour for your students with the Murray State Office of Recruitment by calling 800.272.4678.

Global Languages Showcase Hall of Fame
In years past, students participated in a juried foreign language project competition. MSU professors evaluated the projects, which ranged from costumes and videos to artworks and dioramas. Our Showcase Hall of Fame commemorates the fine work of our compettion winners!
