Laura Liljequist

I am interested in the assessment of psychological disorders. In particular, I have recently focused on the accurate assessment of ADHD in adults, as this has become a popular diagnosis in the media and as a referral question at mental health centers. Further, I have begun to study how information in the public domain about the various psychological disorders affects how people perceive those disorders and/or believe they may be experiencing symptoms of those disorders.

In addition to the research listed in my vitae, here are some examples of student research projects and theses that I have directed:

  • False positive rates of the Conners Adult ADHD Rating Scale

  • Use of the PAI MAN and SCZ scales in detecting ADHD-like symptoms

  • Accuracy of self-report versus observer-report of adult ADHD.

  • Behavioral correlates of selected MMPI-2 clinical, content and restructured clinical scales

  • A psychometric evaluation of the Mutiscore Depression Inventory for Children

  • A comparison of the correlational structures and elevation patterns of the MMPI-2 Restructured Clinical (RC) and Clinical Scales
