Welcome to JH Richmond Hall, home of the Richmond Lions! JH Richmond is located in the residential circle of campus north of Clark on Waldrop Drive. It is a four story hall with residents living on 1st through 4th floors. Here is the breakdown of the floors:

Card access, no key! Private bathrooms inside each room.
JH Richmond provides students with some of our newest amenities. When you check in, you won't receive a key, because your RacerCard is your key to the building and room! JH Richmond is a great community, consisting of upper division and first year students. This is a great option for first year students looking to have a private bathroom within in the room. Below you will find information about the room set-up, amenities, and how to get involved and become a part of the Richmond Lion Community!

Double Room Layouts
All rooms in Richmond have two different styles. As a first year student you will be assigned to a double room with a private bathroom. Upper class students can reserve a room in a suite with four private bedrooms with a common room and bathroom to share. Below are approximate dimensions of the rooms. and furniture supplied.

Keeping JH Richmond Safe and Healthy

All of our halls are secured by a swipe access system. Only the residents of the building will have swipe access at the front door. If you are checking in a guest or someone is coming to visit you, you will have to sign them in at the front desk.

Our Front Desk is open 24/7 for residents needing assistance. Residents can check out kitchen, gaming, and cleaning supplies at the front desk and more!

JH Richmond has staff on duty every night. If you have any concerns, staff is there for you to assist you whenever you need them.

JH Richmond has trash rooms on each floor for students to utilize for everyday trash. If you have large boxes to breakdown and dispose of, there is a dumpster in the back side of Richmond.
Hall Amenities
Common Area
Lots of programs and group meetings in this space! Located on the first floor, this space includes, couches, bathroom, projector screen (projector can be checked out at front desk).
Kitchenette
Located on the 1st floor and contains two stoves, ice machine, sink, counter space, and tables/chairs.
You have to check out a key at the front desk to use the stoves. There is also cooking equipment to check out at the front desk.
Laundry Rooms
Located on each floor. The 1st floor contains three washers and three dryers. The 2nd through 4th floors contains two washers and two dryers.
Study Lounges
Located on the 3rd and 4th floors. The space has tables, chairs, and couches to use.
Game Room
Located on the 2nd floor and includes a pool table. You can check out equipment at the front desk.
2nd Floor Lobby
Includes ping pong table, TV, and couches.
Balcony
Only one on campus! Great chairs, tables to use to get some fresh air and hang out.
Hours for use: 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
CampusPrint
1st floor, across from desk. You will use your RacerCard to access the printer.
You must purchase Printing Dollars through your Money Tab on myGate.
Vending
Located in the kitchen and contains two soda machines and one snack machine.

JH Richmond is full of programs and activities to get involved in on a weekly basis. Your Resident Advisors (RAs) and the Residential College Council (RCC) facilitate a variety of programs to enhance the community, provide fun learning outside the classroom, and to build a stronger connection in JH Richmond. Housing and Residence Life provides opportunities leadership opportunities not only int he hall, but for the entire residential community. The Residential College Association (RCA) and The National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) and two great organizations to get involved in.
