Housing Move Request Form

The Move Request Form is for individuals requesting to move rooms or requesting their current room as a private. Due to the large number of students on campus, we are very limited on the ability to grant private rooms. There are three options for a move request:

1. Requesting to move inside their current residential college

2. Requesting to moving to another residential college

3. Requesting to move to a private or buyout their room as a private (may not be available in every building). Again, we have limited ability on granting privates in any buildings. 

Once the form is complete, a staff member of your current hall will be in contact with you to discuss your desire to move. Moves will be approved on a weekly basis. If you have questions about the status of your move, please contact the Housing Office.

Cancellation Form

RESIDENCE HALLS - SPRING 2025 CANCELLATION- available late Fall 2024 Semester

Please know that there are specific requirements to cancel the housing contract. Decisions on the contract cancellation will be sent to the student's Murray State email address. Students who do not meet the housing cancellation requirements will be denied and charged housing fee for Spring 2025 semester. Students must cancel by June 1st to receive a refund on their deposit for Fall semester and December 1st for Spring semester.

COLLEGE COURTS SPRING 2025 CANCELLATION- available late Fall 2024

Please fill out the College Courts Cancellation form to cancel your current College Courts assignment for Spring 2025 or cancel your application for the Spring 2025. To receive a refund, minus any fees owed to Murray State, cancellations must be submitted by December 1st. If you have any questions please contact the Housing Office.

Interim Break Housing 

THANKSGIVING INTERIM HOUSING FORM- available in November 2024

The Residence Halls will close during Thanksgiving, Winter, Spring, and Summer Break. Current residents needing Housing over the break period, will need to fill out the form above. If the hall they currently live in is closed, they will be assigned an interim space in an open hall if space permits.
